As a VYBC parent, you are joining a community of families dedicated to their child’s development in dance. We are excited you are joining a dynamic and energetic group of parents who enjoy seeing their children perform on stage. It is very rewarding to see how the dancers grow as artists, athletes and human beings.

 

There are 4 requirements for all VYBC families:

 

1. Membership - VFOD Membership Fee of $75 AND VYBC Membership of $600 fee

 

2. Volunteer Hours – minimum 50 hours

Each family will contribute a minimum of 50 hours (Sept through April) which can be through one volunteer committee or be a combination of hours contributed to

various committees and activities.

There are 2 family requirements nestled in the 50 hours of volunteering which are:

• volunteering during one Nutcracker performance (front of the house or backstage)      

• contributing food items to the Nutcracker Bake Sale

VYBC families may “opt out” of volunteering for a cash donation of $50/hour ($2500 total) or equivalent to hours not met.

3. Volunteer Committees - Join at least one VFOD volunteer committee

There are many different committees, with a variety of responsibilities, needs, date, times and hours. Choose what works best for your family and skill set!

In addition to committees, volunteers are needed to help during auditions, dress rehearsals, performances, providing dancers' meals and other functions throughout the year.  Watch for announcements for those opportunities to get involved.

4. Ad Sales/Silent Auction – minimum $500

Each family is responsible for soliciting items for ad sales and/or auction items for value of at least $500. Each family will bring a check for $500 to the Welcome Tea to guarantee that ad sales will be turned in by Nov 15 and silent auction items will be turned in by Nov 17. This check will not be deposited initially and will be discarded upon fulfillment of the requirement. If this requirement is not fulfilled, checks will be deposited in December.
