Vail Friends of Dance salutes this year’s senior dancers at Vail Valley Academy of Dance. These talented members of Vail Youth Ballet Company are working hard to prepare for the upcoming performances with a streaming video available for all those to enjoy (near and far) December 13 - January 1. In addition to focusing on academics, they spend many hours each week rehearsing their roles in the holiday classic “The Nutcracker” ballet. Charlotte Gongaware is a rose, soldier doll and snowflake; Tanner Essex will dance Fritz, Mouse King and Russian pas de deux; Amanda Dirvonas as Arabian princess, snowflake and rose; Sydney Adair is Clara; Jacqueline Lazier is lead angel, maid and flower; Trevi Siebert is lead angel, maid and flower; Audrey Lypps is a snowflake, rose and Arabian princess; Carlotta Porter as Dew Drop Fairy Ballerina Doll and snowflake. These elite VYBC dancers will be joined on stage with younger VVAD students, teachers and community members to round out the cast.
